Who you're actually dealing with
A small firm, deliberately. One accountant who reads your letter himself, tells you what it means in plain English, and quotes a fixed price before touching anything.
The person
The firm is run by Alex Remez, its sole director — and, in the language of the Money Laundering Regulations, also its Nominated Officer. In practice that means the person who reads your file is the person accountable for it. There is no team of unnamed juniors between you and the work.
How an engagement actually runs
- You tell us the situation — WhatsApp, email or the form. In whatever language is easiest.
- Free assessment. We tell you what the problem is, how urgent it is, and whether you even need us. If you do not, we say so.
- A fixed quote in writing, with what is included and what is not, before any work starts.
- Engagement letter and identity check, signed electronically from your phone. We are legally required to verify who you are before we begin.
- The work, with HMRC dealing with us rather than telephoning you.
The quote does not move afterwards. Where the work turns out to be materially larger than you described — a second income source nobody mentioned, records that do not exist — we tell you and agree a revised fee before continuing, never after.
What we do not do
Stated plainly, because knowing the edges of a service is part of trusting it:
- Immigration advice. We are not regulated to give it and do not. We prepare financial documents as factual records and work alongside your regulated adviser.
- Investment, pension or insurance advice. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
- Mortgage advice. We can introduce you to an authorised broker, and will tell you if we are paid for the introduction.
- Reserved legal services — conveyancing, litigation, probate.
- Audit and assurance.
- Tax avoidance schemes. Not as a matter of taste — they collapse, and the client is left holding it.
Fees
Fixed, agreed in writing after a free assessment, payable within seven days of invoice by bank transfer from an account in your own name. We do not bill by the hour, and we never take a percentage of a refund — the rebate firms that take 25–48% of a CIS refund are the reason that sentence needs saying.
Your information
We are required to identify and verify every client before starting work, and to keep those records for five years after the relationship ends. Everything is held in encrypted, access-controlled storage. What we collect, why, and how to get a copy or have it deleted is set out in the Privacy Policy.
One consequence of the anti-money-laundering rules is worth knowing in advance: in defined circumstances we are required by law to report and are prohibited from telling you that we have. It applies to every regulated accountant in the country, and any firm that implies otherwise is misleading you.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. We acknowledge complaints in writing within 5 working days and respond in full within20 working days — the full procedure is on the complaints page, published before you need it rather than produced when you ask.
And where a document we prepared is queried by a bank, a lender or the Home Office, we correct and reissue it free, and handle the follow-up ourselves. That is the re-do guarantee, and it costs you nothing to invoke.
Why a new firm
REMEZ & PARTNERS LTD was incorporated in July 2026. We would rather say that plainly than pad a page with implied history. What a new firm can offer is the thing larger practices ration: attention. A letter answered within 24 hours, by the person who will do the work, at a price fixed before it starts.
What it cannot offer yet is a decade of reviews. So we publish the parts that can be checked instead — the company number, the complaints procedure, the limits of what we are regulated to do, and guides detailed enough that you can judge the quality of the thinking before you pay for any of it. HMRC can go back 4 years for an innocent error and 20 years where it believes something was hidden deliberately; picking an accountant on marketing rather than evidence is a poor way to manage that.
Start with a free assessment
Tell us the situation in a sentence. We will tell you whether it is a real problem, what it takes to fix, and what that costs — before you commit to anything.
